Devised by homegrown Shropshire artists Chris Buiie (BUIIE) & Hamish Spruce-Carter (PHRAKTAL), Deceptabeatz was inspired by a dire lack of drum and bass in a town where opportunities for local producers to get heard are scarce. But with huge support from the community this task has become possible. From the very first DnB Deceptabeatz back in March, a back to back performance between the resident DJ’s, their intention has been to provide straight-up, no BS DnB music by the heads, for the heads. They’ve recently taken residence in Al’s American Diner, who provided them with a raised stage and a slamming PA system that allows them to perform their music with no holds barred. To mix things up and add a separate dimension to Deceptabeatz they’ve previously invited local hip-hop/grime collective Eye Grade Records to the stage, combining their lyrical versatility to vigorous drum and bass, jungle and grime sets.
