Team Dreebs – Team Dreebs Vol.1 – Album review

An experiment which appears to have developed into one of the most exciting UK hip-hop projects to have emerged in 2014, artists Benaddict and Brighton’s Concept of Thought have collaborated their creative lyrical innovations with a pallet devised by a multitude of exceptional producers. Released under Yogocop Records which “delves into many different aspects of Hip-Hop culture including beat making, producing, Mcing, Djing, graphic design, graffiti and crate digging” Team Dreebs Vol.1 is a journey told with loose tongues and light-hearted flows, all the while demonstrating experienced lyricism over entrancing instrumentals that evoke a variety of emotions in the process.

A concoction of calming reflections, poignant productions and dynamic displays of verbal complexity the release is made up of twenty short tracks, more then half of which last less then three minutes in length. As a result, the record bursts with regular diversity. The interchangeable producers demonstrate their expertise with flair whilst Team Dreebs flaunt their lyrical talents collectively and individually, providing the perfect verification of their exceptional abilities.
